Muesli and granola are products that present quite a few challenges when mixing. A good muesli-granola mix is characterized by a homogeneous mixture, no breakage and little to no dust. The goal is to make the individual muesli-granola ingredients, such as dried fruit, freeze-dried fruit, grains, chocolate and seeds, attractive, even in transparent packaging. A variation in composition and homogeneity per package is extremely undesirable, as is breakage and/or dust formation at the bottom of the package.
A Lindor mixer does not exert any forces on these, often fragile, products. This minimizes the risk of breakage and dust formation. Despite the tendency to segregate, a Lindor mixer produces a homogeneous product in a few minutes. Lindor mixers with liquid injection can add flavours or other ingredients to the mixture, such as molasses, caramel or sugar solution.

Many muesli and granola mixers sold by Lindor are configured with a liquid injection system which comprises a spray nozzle to aromatize or flavor batches as they are blending inside the rotating drum.
Due to the nature by which the particles move through the drum and the strategic placement of the spray nozzle, the flavoring or aromatizing liquid is distributed evenly amongst the granules and away from the walls of the drum. The result is a high-quality flavored muesli/cereal/granola blend and an easy, hassle-free cleaning job as the drum does not get lined with a sticky residue.
The Lindor muesli mixers are hygienically designed in accordance with the latest food industry standards (EHEDG). Cleaning is extremely important in preventing any allergens from remaining, for example during product changes.
There are various options to make cleaning easy, quick and thorough, such as:
Fixed spray balls in the mixer clean the drum inlet and outlet. By rotating the drum, the mixer will self-clean, similar to a washing machine. After this, the mixer will dry automatically.
The inlet and outlet are extendible, allowing the operator to thoroughly clean the seals or replace them within minutes to prevent allergens from remaining.
Specially hinged hatches supported by gas struts, which open quickly, easily and safely.
